What measures are in place as a result of COVID-19?

CDSP sanitises all assessment items and infrastructure (e.g. tables and chairs) between clients. Hand sanitiser and face masks are available for use by staff and clients. CDSP asks all clients to register their visit with us using the Check-In CBR app to support contact tracing efforts. For further information, please refer to the CDSP Infection Prevention and Control Policy

Are the staff qualified?

Yes. There are two staff working at CDSP. Michelle is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist and a registered member of Speech Pathology Australia. Francesco is a Professor of Education, with degrees in both mainstream and special education. Both staff hold valid Working With Vulnerable People registration. Learn more about the team on the About Us page.

Can I get regular ongoing speech therapy?

CDSP is primarily an assessment only service. Ongoing therapy is only offered if there is current capacity for new therapy clients. To find a speech pathologist who can provide ongoing, regular intervention, please search the Speech Pathology Australia register.

Do I need a referral to access services at CDSP?

No referral is necessary.

It is helpful if you can provide us with any relevant documentation e.g. reports from other professionals such as Occupational Therapist, Paediatrician, Psychologist etc.

Can I get a Private Health Fund Rebate?

As each private health fund is different, it is important to check with your fund before attending the appointment. Full payment is due at the time of the assessment, and seeking any rebates is the responsibility of the client, parent or guardian.

Will you send my account to the NDIS or other third party?

No – payment is required at the time of the assessment, and is the responsibility of the client, parent or guardian. No accounts will be issued to the NDIS or other third party.

Do I need to be an NDIS participant to receive an assessment?

No – we welcome any individual requiring a speech pathology or educational assessment.

Do I have to stay for my child's appointment?

Yes – all clients aged under 18 years are required to have a parent or guardian with them at all times during their scheduled assessment. For further information, please refer to the CDSP Child Safety Policy and Code of Conduct.
